Lowlands Whisky
Distilled after 1940 and before 1970
This is the southern most whisky producing region running from the Scottish/English border up to the Highland Boundry Fault Line, a line drawn across Scotland approximatley between Glasgow and Dundee.
The whisky produced in this area is mostly regarded as light and floral and a great aperitif. The method of triple distillation was traditionally used in this area, producing a more delicate spirit. These are great whiskies to start off any whisky voyage.
Whiskies from this region:
Auchentoshan, Bladnoch, Glen Flagler, Glenkinchie, Inverleven, Kinclaith, Ladyburn, Littlemill, Rosebank St Magdalene.
