Distillery bottling Benromach 2000 Burgundy Wood Finish
The Benromach Burgundy wood finish is initially matured in sherry and bourbon casks and the reracked into Pinot Noir wine casks from St Romain in Brugundy and matured for a further 7 years. Benromach described this whisky as having an initial burst of fruitiness - ripe cherries, brambles and Cox's Pippin apples balanced with a rounding toffee sweetness and a peat-smoke element that lingers in the background.
