Duncan Taylor & Co Ltd Black Bull Special Reserve No 1
Black Bull Special Reserve is Duncan Taylor’s latest addition to the Black Bull herd. It has been created to celebrate Black Bull 12 winning best scotch blend in the world, 12 years and under at the2011 World Whisky Awards.
The blend features an unusually high ratio of 50% malt to grainwhisky and is bottled at natural cask strength. Non chillfiltered, with no artificial colouring,
Black Bull Special Reserve No.1 is an extremely limited
release batch with just 978 bottles available globally.
Tasting Notes
| Nose |
| DT - Honeycomb, buttered brown bread,
cashew nuts, some mossy, grassy notes
and
quite oily. |
| Taste |
| DT - Olive bread, then heavier fruity
notes, plums, raisins – maybe grapefruit
and a brief encounter with soft smoke.
With time more syrupy citrus notes
emerge along with a little bitter chocolate
orange. |
| Finish |
| DT - Growing sweetness in the finish, a
touch nutty. |
