This Old and Rare Laphroaig was distilled in March 1989 and bottled in March 2011 from a sherry butt which produced 207 bottles. Another cracking old Laphroaig from Douglas Laing.
Tasting Notes
| Nose |
| DL - Fragrant, perfumed and big in a sweet
(lightly fruited) and barley style all
warming
to later suggestions of tar and cinders. |
| Taste |
| DL - Much more tar is apparent - with
chimney soot, barley sweetness and
creosote all to the fore. |
| Finish |
| DL - Long, medicated with peat and more of
that same ashy, tarry and cresote character. |
