Description
Spencerfield Spirit Co Sheep Dip Blended Malt Whisky
Sheep Dip is a blend of malts or what used to be called a vatted malt.
The name is reputedly associated with a time when whisky was hidden from the Excise officers in barrels marked Sheep Dip.
Sheep Dip was created by Richard Patterson from 16 different malts aged between 8 and 21 years and married in fresh American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
| Nose |
| SSC - Delicate and refined. Soft floral
notes
supported by an attractive array of
complex
fruit flavours. Melon, pear and orange
with
a hint of almonds. |
| Taste |
| SSC - Finesse and elegance gives way to
an asserion of pure malty flavours, drawn
from the four distilling regions. The main
accent being expressed from the
Highlands and the Spey Valleys.
However, a subtle hint of Islay can be
detected on the aftertaste as it slowly
ebbs into a classic, pleasing finish. |
